Energy recovery unit <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Once collected, household waste is sent to SIETREM\u2019s Energy Recovery Unit (UVE) in Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes, where it is incinerated. As it burns, the waste generates electricity\u2014a process known as energy recovery.
This facility has a nominal treatment capacity of 155,000 tonnes of waste per year, including both household and non-hazardous industrial waste.
The UVE is equipped with two incineration lines (handling 8 tonnes\/hour on Line 1 and 12 tonnes\/hour on Line 2) and a 10 MW turbo-alternator. Since 2017, the site has used a catalytic flue gas treatment system that reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions fourfold. Thanks to this technology, the facility ranks among the cleanest energy recovery units in France. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The sorting center<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Once collected, all packaging and paper are sent to SIETREM\u2019s sorting center in Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes for processing. With a treatment capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year, this cutting-edge facility sorts materials by size and type using advanced technology. <\/p>

The SIETREM area is served by a network of five fixed recycling centers (Chanteloup-en-Brie, Chelles, Croissy-Beaubourg, Noisiel, and Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes) and three mobile centers (Courtry, Dampmart, and Thorigny-sur-Marne).<\/p>

These sites are equipped with containers for bulky waste not accepted in curbside collections, as well as green waste and special waste streams requiring specific treatment.
All collected items are sent to the appropriate recovery or recycling channels to be given a second life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
