All the information you need to sort your packaging and paper waste (yellow bin).
Over the past 40 years, the amount of household waste has doubled. Packaging now accounts for 38% of its total volume. This means there is a huge potential for recycling and resource conservation. Sorting your waste gives it a second life and helps preserve natural resources.
Let’s all do our part to be eco-responsible and protect the planet!
Place all your packaging and paper in the yellow bin or in a yellow-labelled underground recycling point.
Packaging and paper must be deposited loose in the container (well emptied, without bags and not nested).
Only packaging & paper to be placed in the yellow bin. The yellow bin, provided by SIETREM, is dedicated exclusively to selective collection.
After collection, the materials are sorted by type and sent to appropriate recycling facilities.
The following items must NOT be placed in the yellow bin:
Sanitary waste: diapers, sanitary towels, tissues, paper towels
Soiled packaging: greasy or dirty paper/cardboard
Plastic items that are not packaging: toys, utensils, etc.
Audio/video cassettes, plastic tarps
Brown or corrugated cardboard placed outside the bin
(These can become wet or dirty and contaminate clean recyclables, making sorting impossible)
* Due to technical constraints, coat hangers (plastic or metal), wooden camembert boxes, potato fillets, corks, pens, metal gift paper and plastic dividers cannot be placed in the yellow bin.
