Since 2017 in the Montévrain eco-neighbourhood and 2019 in the Sycomore eco-neighbourhood of Bussy-Saint-Georges, underground Voluntary Drop-Off Points (PAVEs) have been installed near residential areas.
These bins are designed to hold household waste, packaging, paper and glass containers. They replace conventional door-to-door collection and are available 24/7 (for glass from 7am to 10pm). As a result, residents no longer have to take their bins out and put them back in.
More environmentally-friendly, this equipment reduces the frequency of collections. In fact, 1 PAVE contains the equivalent of 7 large bins!
Sorting guidelines remain the same as those for traditional collection.
To make it easier to dispose of bulky cardboard, SIETREM has installed dedicated bins in the following municipalities:
Bussy-Saint-Georges, Brou-sur-Chantereine, Champs-sur-Marne, Courtry, Dampmart, Lognes, Montévrain, Montfermeil, Noisiel, and Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes
This local service makes it easy for residents to dispose of this type of waste, and encourages them to sort.
These bins are intended exclusively for: Parcel boxes, Appliance packaging, Moving boxes, Any large brown cardboard, properly emptied, folded or cut
They are complementary to voluntary drop-off at waste collection centers.
Only bulky cartons can be deposited there, properly emptied, folded or cut. Any other waste inserted into it will prevent the recycling process from running smoothly.
Please note that no waste may be deposited at the foot of these bollards or PAVEs, on pain of a fine.
After collection, cardboard is sent to specialized recycling centres where it is transformed into new products. Sorting helps preserve natural resources: one tonne of recycled cardboard saves 2.5 tonnes of wood.
Following successful trials, SIETREM has invited all member municipalities to consider deploying these cardboard-specific bins across their territory.
Glass packaging bins are available throughout the SIETREM area.
Only broken or whole glass bottles, jars and pots are accepted.
As a reminder, glass can be recycled ad infinitum.
To promote responsible organic waste management and comply with legislation on mandatory source separation of biowaste, SIETREM is trialling biowaste bins in: Bussy-Saint-Georges (town centre), Gournay-sur-Marne, Lognes (Le Village district)
Recycling bins are installed in these 3 communes.
Voluntary drop-off points for household waste, packaging and paper have been installed in Lagny-sur-Marne town center and Lognes commune. This equipment, reserved for private individuals, enables residents to sort their waste at any time. Their aim is to improve the quality of life and cleanliness of roadways, while preserving the environment.
Please note that voluntary drop-off points for household waste are equipped with an anti-odour system to prevent odour nuisance.
Sorting instructions are the same as for door-to-door collection.
