How to Present Bulky Waste

Bulky items must be placed at the same location as household waste, only on the designated collection days.Presented in bulk in the same place as household refuse, on bulky waste collection days only.

Bulky goods should not be taken to just any collection. To find out when you can take them out, consult the collection schedules.

Your local municipal by-law defines when to put out bulky waste.
We recommend placing items out the evening before, or before 5:00 a.m. on the day of collection.

Accepted waste

Bulky household items that are too large or heavy to be handled with standard waste collection, such as:
Furniture and furnishings
Mattresses and bed bases
Other household items under 25 kg, and within a limit of 1m³

Refused waste

Bulky waste from commercial, industrial or craft activities
Packaging waste from businesses
Vehicle parts, even if dismantled
Construction rubble, bricks, tiles
Metal fencing or barbed wire
Garden waste, logs, tree stumps
Heavy scrap metal, household garbage, or hazardous objects
Hazardous waste such as:
Paint cans, solvents, oils, batteries
Toxic or flammable liquids

Electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is not accepted as bulky waste. Please take these to a designated waste collection centre.

Specific chemical waste (DDS) must also be taken to a waste disposal facility.

This list is not exhaustive. SIETREM may reclassify unlisted items into the appropriate waste stream.

The operator will be available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Or reserve a slot online

For the convenience of residents and to enable them to dispose of bulky items easily, a bulky items collection service by appointment has been set up in the communes of Brou-sur-Chantereine, Bussy-Saint-Martin, Champs-sur-Marne, Chanteloup-en-Brie, Chelles, Conches-sur-Gondoire, Courtry, Dampmart, Guermantes, Montévrain, Montfermeil, Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes and Vaires-sur-Marne .

This service replaces the fixed-date door-to-door collection of bulky items, and is tailored to residents’ needs. This new collection service is available Monday to Friday, between 8am and 1pm. It is organized in different ways, depending on the type of dwelling:

For people living in a single-family dwelling or in a building with no more than 6 units:
You can book an appointment on the sietrem.fr website or by telephone on 01 60 43 51 96. You can benefit from this service according to your needs, up to a limit of 15 times a year.

For residents of buildings with more than 6 dwellings:
You are invited to submit your request for the removal of bulky items to the janitor or representative appointed by the lessor, syndic or condominium manager. This person must centralize requests from residents of the building for which he or she is responsible, before making an appointment for the entire residence. This organization reduces the inconvenience caused by dumpster rounds, while limiting the carbon footprint.

If you have not already done so, please contact the SIETREM by e-mail at encombrants-collectifs@sietrem.fr, giving your contact details and the address(es) of the buildings for which you are responsible.

For this type of housing, there is no limit to the quantity or number of collections.

How it works

When you make an appointment, the collector will offer you a number of time slots, from 72 hours to 15 days after the request. You will be asked for the type of items to be removed. In this way, the operator ensures that your waste complies with the regulations(see the list of waste accepted and refused at bulky waste collection by appointment).
The authorized quantity is approximately 1m3. You do not need to be present at the collection. Garbage must be presented by 8 a.m. on the day of the appointment for people living in a single-family dwelling or in a building with no more than 6 dwellings, and by 11 a.m. for buildings with more than 6 dwellings(see rules for the correct presentation of bulky items).

Once an appointment has been made with the collector and the waste to be disposed of has been validated, a registration number is given by telephone. If you have an e-mail address, a written confirmation will be sent to you. This registration number must be indicated on the bulky waste pile. At the end of the collection, an e-mail is sent to you to confirm that your waste has been collected and to inform you of any problems encountered (non-compliant waste, volume not respected, inaccessible waste, etc.).

If you were concerned by a grouping point for the presentation of your bulky waste during the fixed collection date, this remains unchanged.

Advantageous service

This system, which has proved successful in other territories, gives you maximum flexibility and facilitates the management of your bulky goods. What’s more, it eliminates the need for imposing collection points and puts an end to the mess generated by untimely rummaging during monthly collections.

SIETREM thanks you for your interest in this new service.
